Milk-we-go-down-the-stairs!! Weeee
It isn't even safe to go to the bathroom these days without worry of some kind of disaster happening! I go into the kitchen to find 2 diapers that had been slid off of 2 little butts on the floor. I begin my search to find Barrett happily playing in Tristan's room but Soren...that Soren is a different story. After I hear the strangest noise come tumbling down the stairs I ran to check it out. Soren was sitting at the top of the stairs with a big grin that was covered with a white mustache. He took the milk carton that was on the counter and was drinking it out of the (gal)bottle, ON THE STAIRS!! That tumbling noise was the milk jug at the bottom. I can just imagine it in slow motion as the jug is flying through the air, bouncing from step to step and that lovely flow of milk as it gets all over the carpet. Ohhh, I was mad at this little guy. They are safely locked in their seats eating breakfast while I cleaned it up and came here to vent!! I just pray that all their food is in their belly and not on the floor.

SUMMER has officially begun!!
Today is the last day of school! Yesterday Eliana had her class program and graduation. Today Tristan class sang in the Pre-K program. It was SO adorable!! They sang "We've got the whole world in our hands" and he held up the sea poster. Then we said our goodbye's to his teacher's Mrs. Cheaves and Mrs. West. They truly have been outstanding teachers. He was so lucky to get the best teacher in the school! After that we joined all the other pre-k'ers in the cafeteria for lunch. It was a great day!

Eliana is now officially a 1st grader and Tristan is a Kindergartner. Now I need to get my rear end in gear and plan out all the day's for this summer. We need a daily schedule to keep us from being complete couch potatoes! and from cutting each other's heads off.:)

We are really looking forward to spending the month of July in AR with the grandparents. The kids are very excited!

Sly move
So Tristan was getting out of the tub and drying off when he asks me to leave the bathroom. I knew he was up to something so I peaked my head in and saw him spit on Eliana's towel!!! When I scolded him be being naughty and sent him to time out he kept saying "Eli did it first!" I swear, these two are always at it.
Tonight I gave all 3 boys hair cuts. They look SO handsome! Tristan was last and the boys were in the tub, so I thought...they were running around the house naked playing tug-o-war with a slinky. They were laughing so hard they could hardly stand up.
This is the last week of school and many of Eliana's friends are moving away. She came to me in tears because she doesn't want to move and leave her friends and home. After explaining things to her she didn't think it was fair that we don't even know when or where we are going. It must be hard being a 6 year old and thinking of such stresses. On a brighter note...Eli is reading fantastically!! She is currently reading the Magic Tree House series and loves to read to Grandma and Grandpa on the phone before bed. It helps me as I am trying to put the boys to bed. She is a very bright little girl.

Getting back on track!
I have been wasting all my posting on FB when I should be documenting all our happenings on this blog. This way it is more about journaling rather than sharing my life with acquaintances. So I will probably post little tidbits here and there and will work my way up to real informative posts. Hey...at least I am trying, right?!
Secret stash of GUM!
I was just in Tristan's room changing out his bedding and I found my missing pack of gum underneath his pillows! I was wondering where he got a piece of gum from this morning!!

A stinky disaster!
Last night the boys were taking a bath when Eli and Tristan came in to the bathroom wanting to get in the tub. I quickly dried off the boys and sent them into the living room while Eli and Tristan got undressed and in the tub. It was no longer than 1-2 minutes when I went out and picked up Soren to get him dressed. I put him on my bed and he brought his big Lightening McQueen toy. I noticed a terrible poopy smell but couldn't see anything. Then I noticed some brown stuff on the car! It was POOP!! Where did it come from and why did Soren just roll it all over my bed!!?? I went back into the living room to get Barrett and noticed pee all over the floor. 2 spots to be exact with dribbles everywhere. Then to my horror I saw poop smeared all over the arm of the couch where Soren had been driving his car, also on the floor and who knows where else. After I got it cleaned up I still smelled something awful and couldn't place it. Chris came home and noticed right away it was something on the kitchen counter. A small toy motorcycle was laying on the counter and had poop filled in every little crevice. That one went straight into the trash!
I can vow that from now on I will NOT let naked babies run free in my house, not for ONE second!
This morning the boys were outside on the back patio and roaming the back yard chasing squirrels with Diesel. Next thing I know they are washing their mud covered shoes in Diesels water bowl. Great! Muddy water all over the patio, soggy shoes and mischievous boys! Will I ever recover from the terrible 2's. Wait they aren't even 2 yet!!! Can we just skip to the terrific 3's PLEASE!!

Sweet Eliana is 6 years old!!!
I just can't believe how fast Eliana is growing up. Not only is she getting older, she is beautiful, smart, sensitive, eager to learn, wants to be at school on holidays:), a good example, competitive, determined, thoughtful and can sometimes read peoples minds...then gives her little mad scientist laugh!! Eliana is truly a wonderful little girl and I am so glad she is part of our family.
Eliana loves to read books. She can read most beginner books on her own and I have started reading Chapter books to her. She is enjoying the Junie B Jones Series right now. She really has a drive to please people. She is still very shy in many ways. I have been working with her on speaking to adults when she is spoken to and she gets nervous being the center of attention. Eli is a typical big sister. There are days when she and Tristan are playing wonderfully together. Sharing, taking turns, imagination play and just plain goofing around come easy for them. However, most days they are bickering, competitive and always wanting to out do the other. Eliana shows her strength by picking up the boys and carrying them around until they scream at her to stop. She got a scooter from Grandma and Grandpa Eastman and she was able to ride it all the way around our neighborhood without giving up. Maybe this spring she will be ready to take the training wheels off her bike! Grandma Elaine bought Eli some adorable clothes for school and she put a lot of effort into the fabulous Halloween costume she made for her this year.

Eliana's b-day party was a success!! The kids loved the tea party, the dancing games and we all loved the Tea Pot Cake I made this year. My good friend Lizzy helped me by teaching me some cool cake decorating techniques. I have to say, I was very impressed with how fun and beautiful it turned out.

Tristan makes me laugh!
Chris has been so bummed that he hasn't been hunting yet this season. In fact he hasn't been able to hunt in a long time. His buddy Paul Wallace sent him a picture of a deer he had shot recently showing the bloody entrance wound. Chris was excitedly showing Tristan the picture and Tristan's face got a little sad. Chris asked him why he was sad and Tristan said "because I wish it was YOU who shot the deer dad."
SO Chris is finally out hunting this morning. Lets hope he gets some BIG game!!

Up in the sky! Apples...Bapples
Soren has a fascination with airplanes and anything that he can spot way up in the sky. It all started when we would lay on the trampoline and stare up at the sky. He moves his arm side to side to show the clouds are moving. He points at every bird, bug and airplane he can see and makes an excited noise. I can't believe how sharp is eyes are. He can spot the tiniest plane thousands of feet high.
Barrett has always been my talker. He can carry on a whole conversation with himself and seems to know exactly what he is saying. It is nothing but mumbling and gibberish to me. Yesterday he spotted an apple on the counter and desperately wanted to hold it. I gave it to him and he held on to it for an hour or so then decided to try a bite. He ate half the apple and I had to trail him and pick up pieces of skin he would spit out. The whole day he was running around with it saying BAPPLE, Bapple! He is just too darn cute!!! AND I just Love the way his smile lights up his whole body.
These boys are such a blessing to our family. I can't imagine one without the other.

Mother fighting Breast Cancer delivers twins b/g Babies!!
I just found out about a local woman who is battling with Breast Cancer and is a new mother of twins. She just had healthy 6 lb boy and girl babies and she starts her Chemo this week. Our local Multiples group is trying to figure out a way to help this family. It brings me to tears thinking about the trials this family is facing. She is such a young and beautiful woman and I hope that they triumph over her Cancer and she can enjoy every moment with her precious babies. Keep them in your prayers.

Ruffin' around on the Trampoline
I have been putting the boys on the trampoline since they were babies hoping that one day they would get used to it and want to jump with us. That day is here and they are WILD!! Tristan, Barrett and Soren wrestle while Eliana bounces them around. Tristan still gets a little rough but Barrett is the toughest. He is seriously strong! He can get a death grip on you and it hurts like non other!

PS off the topic. Eliana asked me if there will be food in Heaven. I told her there should be and then she asked me "How would you know? You've never been there." She is just too smart for her own good.

Last swim of the Summer

Eliana has gotten very good at swimming under water. She doesn't seem to think she can swim on top though. Strange child!! Tristan was off running errands with dad but the boys and Eli had fun in the water. Barrett and Soren LOVE splashing around and being glided on top of the water. I think Soren will be an early swimmer. He is very eager to go all in and he can't keep still. He is like a bar of soap in the water!! They are even worse in the BATH!!!

Dog food, dog food everywhere...dog food, dog food in my hair!!!

The boys love to go out on the patio and feed Diesel his food. They think it is SO much fun to play fetch with his food. They hide it in crevasses, stuff it in toys and worst of all...they eat it!! I used to stress out about it but realized that there are worse things they could be putting in their mouths. The funny part is when I catch them in action. As soon as I step out into the patio I give them "the eye" and say spit! They both start spitting out all that nasty dog food. It is so discusting and hilarious all at the same time! Now I need to catch Soren on video as he is sliding at light speed down the stairs and Barrett when he throws one of his silly tantrums.

Chris and Tristan's Fishing Trip To Alaska
Last year Chris took Eliana to AK to go fishing with Grandma Elaine and Grandpa Gary. This year was all about the boys! Chris and Tristan flew up with Jess and his dad Jim for 10 days. They had a great time fishing the beautiful waters down in Valdez, AK. I love how the gorgeous mountains climb straight up out of the ocean waters and the waterfalls that come down from the glaciers. Can you tell I am totally jealous that I didn't get to go??!! They had loads of fun fishing but didn't catch as many as they hoped for.
Tristan had fun playing with Gary and Elaine and roaming around the Alaska State fair.
They saw a big black bear that was roaming the camp grounds. They saw several sea otters and sea lions.
There was also this stubborn star fish that was eating their bait.
I should just have Chris post about it since he was there! I sure did miss them and was ready for Tristan to give me a big hug.
My husband's the BEST!!
Eli and I flew out to Arkansas for the long weekend. I left her with Grandma and Grandpa Eastman while I drove out to Oklahoma for my friend Tracy's wedding. The whole weekend was a blast and we had a great time. Chris was left behind with the 3 boys. Other than a few phone calls asking "can the boys eat Chicken Salad?" and "how come you have never taken video of Soren flying down the stairs? It's hilarious!" Chris did a great job with the boys. He cleaned the kitchen every night, swept the floors, folded laundry and kept the kids entertained. I have to say that Chris is a fabulous husband and father!!

Independence Day celebrations
We got to an early start and headed out to Fort Stewart with Kayleen and her kiddos Zach and Mackenzie to enjoy all the fun and free festivities. Chris stayed home with the babies so they didn't have to endure the relentless HEAT. The day was filled with face painting, crafts, jumping on inflatables, riding loads of rides at the carnival, playing at the sprinkler park, sliding down the water inflatables and swimming in the big pool with the twisty slide. We finally left around 6pm sunburned and we still had to pry the kids into the van. They had so much fun they couldn't stand leaving.
Tomorrow we are putting on our own fireworks show out front. The babies love the colorful smoke bombs. I will hopefully make a point to post again with all the fun pictures of the night.
I am proud to be an American! I am eternally grateful for all of our freedoms and liberties. I am very proud of my husband for his service to our great country and to all the men and women to give so much of their heart and soul to protect the meaning behind our flag. If you haven't heard the story of Francis Scott Key then you must look it up online or email me and I will send you a great audio video. for some reason it wouldn't let me upload it. Have a safe and happy 4th of July!!!
