We made it to Arkansas!

We set out of Savannah around 4:30 pm on Thursday. I drove the 4 hours to Atlanta then Chris drove most of the night and I picked up the last 3 hours till we got here. It took 16 hours and thankfully they were uneventful hours. The dogs didn't make a peep the whole time other than barking at cars and people at the gas stations. Tristan slept like a log most of the night. The boys slept restlessly and Barrett was not happy at all about being in his car seat that long. However, they didn't scream nearly as much as I had prepared myself for. Eliana woke up around 3 am and couldn't fall back asleep so she and I talked a little, looked at the stars and dozed in and out. She was so anxious to get there she asked if we were there yet 15 minutes after we left Savannah!! Yes, it continued the whole trip. The sad part is she fell fast asleep just 30 minutes before arriving and she was so exhausted that she wouldn't wake up till we dragged her out of the truck and we were all unloaded.

Here are some highlights since our arrival:

-the LAKE! the kids immediately wanted to go swimming.
-We went on a beautiful boat ride that night, found a great swimming spot and watched an amazing sunset.
-Sat morning Chris and I went shooting with some friends we know here in Rogers. We got up at 6 am to head out to the country. After shewing away all the cows we had a lot of fun shooting it up. I was able to help a girl I just met, Ellie, how to use her new gun. She did really good.
-Dad came home from scout camp and we all went out to lunch at the Whole Hog Cafe to enjoy some of the best brisket, pork and potato salad we have ever had. Chris has a gift of making connections everywhere he goes and he always gets free stuff. We walked away with another free t-shirt and extra food.
-Sat night we enjoyed more great food at the neighbors annual fish fry. Yum, yum!! afterwards we set off a few fireworks for the kids and they giggled more than I thought possible. Can't wait for tonight when we put on the big show!
-Chris and I slept in till 10:30 this morning. We are sleeping up in the camper and my parents are taking care of the kids.
-The dogs are in heaven here. They have been running around with the neighbor dogs Casey and Shep. I haven't had to worry about them running off and they love to play fetch in the lake.

Tomorrow morning Chris flies home to go back to work. He will return July 29th to spend the weekend with us before he helps drive all of us back home. I am sure I will be posting loads of pictures. I just need to charge my camera battery.

Soren's made up words

I have never heard a baby actually say "GaGa GooGoo" before. I always thought it was something you would hear on tv or in conversations as jokes but never really out of a child's mouth. Soren says it as clear as day! AND it is his new word for Airplane. So he looks up to the sky or at his toy planes and say's GaGa Goo Goo. I can't help but crack up laughing. This morning we were having balloon sword fights and his word for balloon is "BA-momo". This is so funny to me because he has actually said balloon and airplane before the correct way. He is actually making up his own language and laughing as he does it. Should I be worried he is regressing in language? Or do all kids think it is funny to make crazy sounds come out of their mouths?

To top off the humor in the house Barrett has discovered the tabs on his diaper. He thinks it is a miracle he can take off his own diaper without taking 10 minutes to pull them down. So I have been chasing him all morning to keep him dressed. I am thinking potty training is around the corner soon.

Milk-we-go-down-the-stairs!! Weeee

It isn't even safe to go to the bathroom these days without worry of some kind of disaster happening! I go into the kitchen to find 2 diapers that had been slid off of 2 little butts on the floor. I begin my search to find Barrett happily playing in Tristan's room but Soren...that Soren is a different story. After I hear the strangest noise come tumbling down the stairs I ran to check it out. Soren was sitting at the top of the stairs with a big grin that was covered with a white mustache. He took the milk carton that was on the counter and was drinking it out of the (gal)bottle, ON THE STAIRS!! That tumbling noise was the milk jug at the bottom. I can just imagine it in slow motion as the jug is flying through the air, bouncing from step to step and that lovely flow of milk as it gets all over the carpet. Ohhh, I was mad at this little guy. They are safely locked in their seats eating breakfast while I cleaned it up and came here to vent!! I just pray that all their food is in their belly and not on the floor.

SUMMER has officially begun!!

Today is the last day of school! Yesterday Eliana had her class program and graduation. Today Tristan class sang in the Pre-K program. It was SO adorable!! They sang "We've got the whole world in our hands" and he held up the sea poster. Then we said our goodbye's to his teacher's Mrs. Cheaves and Mrs. West. They truly have been outstanding teachers. He was so lucky to get the best teacher in the school! After that we joined all the other pre-k'ers in the cafeteria for lunch. It was a great day!

Eliana is now officially a 1st grader and Tristan is a Kindergartner. Now I need to get my rear end in gear and plan out all the day's for this summer. We need a daily schedule to keep us from being complete couch potatoes! and from cutting each other's heads off.:)

We are really looking forward to spending the month of July in AR with the grandparents. The kids are very excited!

Mobile blogging!!! This is so cool. Now I really don't have any excuse.

Sly move

So Tristan was getting out of the tub and drying off when he asks me to leave the bathroom. I knew he was up to something so I peaked my head in and saw him spit on Eliana's towel!!! When I scolded him be being naughty and sent him to time out he kept saying "Eli did it first!" I swear, these two are always at it.

Tonight I gave all 3 boys hair cuts. They look SO handsome! Tristan was last and the boys were in the tub, so I thought...they were running around the house naked playing tug-o-war with a slinky. They were laughing so hard they could hardly stand up.

This is the last week of school and many of Eliana's friends are moving away. She came to me in tears because she doesn't want to move and leave her friends and home. After explaining things to her she didn't think it was fair that we don't even know when or where we are going. It must be hard being a 6 year old and thinking of such stresses. On a brighter note...Eli is reading fantastically!! She is currently reading the Magic Tree House series and loves to read to Grandma and Grandpa on the phone before bed. It helps me as I am trying to put the boys to bed. She is a very bright little girl.

Getting back on track!

I have been wasting all my posting on FB when I should be documenting all our happenings on this blog. This way it is more about journaling rather than sharing my life with acquaintances. So I will probably post little tidbits here and there and will work my way up to real informative posts. Hey...at least I am trying, right?!

Secret stash of GUM!

I was just in Tristan's room changing out his bedding and I found my missing pack of gum underneath his pillows! I was wondering where he got a piece of gum from this morning!!

A stinky disaster!

Last night the boys were taking a bath when Eli and Tristan came in to the bathroom wanting to get in the tub. I quickly dried off the boys and sent them into the living room while Eli and Tristan got undressed and in the tub. It was no longer than 1-2 minutes when I went out and picked up Soren to get him dressed. I put him on my bed and he brought his big Lightening McQueen toy. I noticed a terrible poopy smell but couldn't see anything. Then I noticed some brown stuff on the car! It was POOP!! Where did it come from and why did Soren just roll it all over my bed!!?? I went back into the living room to get Barrett and noticed pee all over the floor. 2 spots to be exact with dribbles everywhere. Then to my horror I saw poop smeared all over the arm of the couch where Soren had been driving his car, also on the floor and who knows where else. After I got it cleaned up I still smelled something awful and couldn't place it. Chris came home and noticed right away it was something on the kitchen counter. A small toy motorcycle was laying on the counter and had poop filled in every little crevice. That one went straight into the trash!

I can vow that from now on I will NOT let naked babies run free in my house, not for ONE second!

This morning the boys were outside on the back patio and roaming the back yard chasing squirrels with Diesel. Next thing I know they are washing their mud covered shoes in Diesels water bowl. Great! Muddy water all over the patio, soggy shoes and mischievous boys! Will I ever recover from the terrible 2's. Wait they aren't even 2 yet!!! Can we just skip to the terrific 3's PLEASE!!
